The effects of Mobile Phone on Society

Kinston k in his article argues, "Cell phones have become a necessity for many people throughout the world". I would agree with this statement by Kingston because in today’s society mobile phones have become a very important part of peoples life’s as most use mobile phone to keep in touch with their friend/family and even uses for their work or job purpose. Kingston also sates the development and improvement of mobile phone from being bulky, expensive and hard to use have advanced mobile phone to have alarm, camera, calendar, GPS and improve reception due to use of satellite, he also goes as far as to tell that mobile phones also "gives the user the sense of security and In the event of emergency, having a cell phone can allow help to reach you quickly and could possibly save lives".

The advancement in mobile phone has definitely change the way we communicate and has effected the way we live in this current society but telling that their are some threats using mobile phones as there has been researches showing us that mobile phones can damage your brain. Professor Colin Blakemore, Waynflete professor of physiology at Oxford University said that using mobile phones affect the function of the brain. Professor Blakemore said "nerve cells were influenced by electromagnetic radiation of the type produced by mobile phones".Professor Jim Penman, from Aberdeen University also argues that mobile phone can affect the brain, He said "we was using an earpiece attached to his mobile phone so that the handset was kept as far away from his brain as possible".

The use of mobile phone not only affect our brain but the relation between our families can be harmed because the use of mobile phone will cut down the face to face meting or talking to the families member and the children's writing skills may suffer due to the use of text messaging has been sated on Douglas S in his article.

  1. You have shown three references but only one is cited in your literature review - which is Kingston but you don't provide a date! Remember when you cite in the text you cite the surname and the date.
